Opening | Maison Close: new wine bar in Hochelaga

There is no shortage of good places to eat and drink in Hochelaga. A new haunt has been added to the list, alongside Hélicoptère, Hélico and other Supernat: Maison Close, located in the former Flamand, on rue Ontario.

It is also to its former owners that we owe this slightly naughty wine bar, whose name and neon sign are reminiscent of the Red Light.

The extensive wine list, divided into categories (“the famous dry and mineral”, “vermouth and amaro”, “bubbly” and “glou glou”), offers bottles starting at $40.

To eat, the “Italo-Montreal” inspired menu is also intended to be accessible, with small dishes starting at $13: caprese tomatoes with three cheeses ($14), chicken croquettes and smoked cherry tomato jam ($13), and, for regulars of the now defunct Flamand, foie gras ganache & popcorn with shrimp salt ($16).

Open Wednesday to Saturday, 7pm to late.
