Romande Energie invests in Yord, a young company specializing in the optimization of heating systems, via a connected box which makes it possible to analyze the energy needs of buildings.
Romande Energie announces that it has invested in the start-up Yord, for an undisclosed amount. The technology developed by this start-up aligns with the objectives of the energy company, which seeks to promote innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of its customers.
Founded in 2021, this young Friborg company is developing a connected box that analyzes the thermal behavior of buildings and the habits of occupants to optimize heating systems. Compatible with all types of installation, the device does not require any structural modification. According to the Romande Energie press release, this technology makes it possible to reduce energy consumption by up to 40%.
In its online documentation, Yord indicates that its boxes are associated with wireless sensors measuring different parameters, such as temperature, humidity, brightness and air quality. The data collected is analyzed by calibration algorithms to anticipate energy needs and adjust heating systems. An online application simplifies remote management of the building or real estate portfolio. “The expertise of Romande Energie and its RE Ventures unit in the field of energy as well as their transversal skills convinced us to choose them to accelerate our technical and commercial development,” says Sébastien Bron, CEO and co-founder of the start-up.
