If you own a home, you must not forget to complete the real estate declaration before July 1, 2024. A new fine is planned for those who refuse to do so.
In 2023, owners had to complete a new declaration concerning their real estate on the website impots.gouv.fr.
This year, you must complete the document again, at the risk of a fine this time. The declaration of the occupation and occupants of your real estate property must be made from the online service “Real estate” on the impots.gouv.fr website, from your personal space, before July 1, 2024, reminds the government website.
Before July 1st
“The property(ies) that you own are displayed there. For each of them, you must click on “Declare” and provide the requested information”we can read on impots.gouv.fr.
In the event of a change in circumstances between January 2, 2023 and January 1, 2024, the declaration must be made before July 1, 2024.
If you filed a declaration in 2023, this declaration of occupation is not necessary, if your situation has not changed, according to -.fr.
Risk of fine
In 2023, more than eight out of 10 owners had correctly completed the document according to the 2023 activity report of the Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFiP). In 2024, those who do not do so risk a fine of €150 per undeclared property, according to MoneyVox.
