This Thursday, November 20, the Michelin truck and light truck tire production site in Cholet is still at a standstill.
150 to 200 employees take turns day and night to hold the strike picket in front of the entrance to the factory and, since Monday, nothing has come in or out of this site which employs 955 people.

Wishing that their movement is not “drowned” in the rest of the news, the strikers are delighted with the arrival of the former spokesperson for the New Anticapitalist Party, Olivier Besancenot, who arrived at midday at Cholet, at the general assembly during which, like every day, the strikers decide on the continuation of the movement.
Speaking, Olivier Besancenot said he came to “provide a service and support a united message so that it is known nationally”. According to him, “this case of the closure of Michelin in Cholet is a caricature of those who gorge themselves”.
A factory employee says he receives this visit as support that is always good to take:
“Olivier Besancenot, we know him, says Bastien You, of the CGT. He is not a professional politician, he is an activist, he is a support that we can appreciate. Our fight is the same fight as that of workers at many other companies, Valéo, Auchan, Saunier Duval or Vencorex. It’s a fight that concerns many workers in the country.”
In the afternoon of this Thursday, the strikers present in front of the Cholet site saw the arrival of two bailiffs who sent seven of them summons to appear before the Angers court..
Bastien You is one of the seven. He confirms this summons intended to lift the strike picket in front of the factory entrance.
“It’s to put pressure on us, he said, and then send us the font. But Friday morning, there will be more than seven of us at the Angers court!”
The summary hearing is in fact scheduled for November 22 at 9 a.m.
