A week in advance, Decathlon is already in the middle of Black Friday with attractive discounts on bikes and scooters.
Should we rush? The game is always dangerous between the risk of very rapid stock exhaustion and possible second round of promotion as the end of Black Friday approaches. The question arises when examining the price reductions made by Decathlon on a wide selection of 2-wheel mobility solutions. Both bicycles (in all forms) and scooters.
But with discounts ranging from 50 to 300 euros, on products sometimes worth up to 5,000 euros, we say to ourselves that Decathlon's approach is strangely timid. It's not Decathlon's habit to tiptoe there.
-10% in total?
No need to take out the calculator to see the percentage of Decathlon reductions. On the very interesting R500E rear-loading longtail electric cargo bike in light green color (the black and orange ones are not discounted), the price drop is 300 euros, or 10%. Thus, the price drops from 2999 to 2699 euros, which remains an amount to pay for a family.
Same observation with the large Cargo F990E which can accommodate up to 4 children. This bike, in addition to the parent who controls and pedals, can therefore transport up to 5 people and intelligently replace a car in the city. Alas, its price simply goes from 4999 to 4699 euros, again with a reduction of 300 euros.
We are very far from the -50%, or even -80%, usually employed for Black Friday operations. Therefore, we come back to the hook of this article: should we rush or let a few days pass to see the evolution of Decathlon's commercial policy? Black Friday will last until December 1, 2024…
