The weekend promises to be difficult for motorists in Greater Montreal who will have to deal with the closure of the Louis-Hippolyte-La tunnel, but also work on the Honoré-Mercier bridge.

The bridge-tunnel sector should be avoided during the weekend, recommends Mobilité Montréal in a press release published Thursday.

Thus, it will be completely closed in the north direction from Friday 11 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. from exit 90 (R-132) on the A-20 west in Longueuil to the entrance to Sherbrooke Street in Montreal.

A detour is planned towards exit 90 towards R-132 west, exit 82 / Jacques-Cartier bridge, downtown exit towards avenue De Lorimier south and Notre-Dame Est, Curatteau and De Boucherville streets.

Default closures will also take place from 10:30 p.m. on Friday for the ramps leading from the R-132 east and the R-132 west (exits 89-N) to the A-25 north as well as the entrance to the street of Île-Charron.

In the south direction, the bridge-tunnel will be closed between exit 5 (rue Sherbrooke) in Montreal and the R-132 in Longueuil during the night from Friday to Saturday then from Saturday to Sunday.

The detour will take place via De Boucherville, Hochelaga, Dickson Sud and Notre-Dame Est streets and Papineau Avenue / Jacques-Cartier Bridge.

Avenue Souligny will also not be accessible in the east direction, between Rue Dickson and Rue Honoré-Beaugrand.

Traffic will also be hampered on the Honoré-Mercier bridge from Friday 10 p.m. to Saturday 11 a.m. eastbound, between Montreal and Kahnawake. Traffic will be in the opposite direction on the upstream bridge (South Shore direction), with one lane in each direction.
