From 2025, Moroccans could have access to satellite internet thanks to Starlink and OneWeb. The ANRT, the telecommunications regulatory authority in Morocco, is considering granting licenses to these two companies.
The objective? Improve internet coverage and connection quality, particularly in remote areas where the installation of terrestrial networks is difficult. “Starlink”, a project from SpaceX, relies on a constellation of mini-satellites in low orbit to guarantee high throughput and low latency.

This technology could play a major role in the development of the digital economy in Morocco. By offering high-speed access to everyone, including the most isolated communities, it promotes access to information and online services.
In addition, Morocco is seeking to boost the sector as important events approach such as the African Cup of Nations and especially the Football World Cup which it will host in 2030. It knows that it does not have the right to make mistakes and among FIFA’s requirements, good internet speed via fiber or 5G.
