Hi-Power Cycles (HPC), a Californian company well known in the industry for its unusual electric bikes, has launched a division specializing in military products called HPC Defense. First vehicle in this new branch: the Revolution W, a military electric bike that defies usual speed limits by reaching 130 km/h.

An ultra-powerful military electric bike

Usually, in the United States electric bikes are limited to a maximum speed of 45 km/h. A restriction that does not apply to products intended for military use. The Revolution W, entirely assembled on American soil, presents itself as the “ fastest production military electric bike in the world » thanks to its 10,500 watt motor (!).

According to HPC, this motor allows the bike to spin at impressive speeds, while offering pedaling assistance up to 80 km/h thanks to the Schlumpf High-Speed Drive device, made in Germany.

The bike also has a range of 100 miles in acceleration-only mode, although that distance is arguably measured at a lower average speed than maximum. In addition, the Revolution W is equipped with long-distance suspension, with 23 cm of travel at the rear and 20 cm at the front, making it an ideal two-wheeler for difficult terrain and hostile environments.

The arrival of Bryan Maizlish, former executive at Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, as CEO of HPC Defense, marked a new stage for the company. With notable experience in the public sector, the new boss brings his expertise to the development of technologies adapted to the needs of the military, law enforcement and local governments.

The Revolution W’s frame is made from aerospace-grade aluminum and carbon fiber, keeping it lightweight and strong. The bike is available in camouflage and black finishes, with custom color options upon request. The price of this military model has not been revealed.

The Revolution W is not the only model from the HPC Defense division. Its catalog also includes the Titan 2025 and a version of the Trailblazer. Each model is designed for specific uses, with features suited to difficult terrain, reconnaissance missions and tactical operations.

The use of military e-bikes is not new. Armies like Ukraine’s have already demonstrated the effectiveness of these vehicles for transporting anti-tank missile and sniper teams. Electric bikes offer significant advantages over combustion or electric motorcycles, particularly in terms of reduced weight and increased maneuverability. In addition, in the event of a battery failure, the pedals allow you to continue moving forward.
