The fine sleuths will have recognized this look of Kei Car
typical of the land of the rising sunwith its square shapes, its ultra-compact dimensions and above all, an unbeatable price, around €14,000.
A small electric van to do everything
The Honda N-VAN e is mainly intended for urban use, with its small battery of around 25kWh (this is not specified on the site!), because the announced autonomy is only 245 km.
Honda had the good idea to available in different models, from the utility version (2 seats and a large trunk) to the bus family
with 4 seats. It can therefore be used as a food truck or for vanlifers (but not too far, eh).
Its dimensions are therefore those of the Kei Car, namely less than 4m long (3,395m exactly) by 1,475m wide and 1.96m high (yes yes!). The weight is still above the ton (1,140 kg). It’s compact, practical and quite frankly, this would be ideal for cities like Paris, Lyon, or Marseillein which space is running out, particularly for parking in the city center.
Let’s be frank, the interior is not particularly dreamy, it’s the function that dominates, with a small 7″ screen for the meters and 11″ for the GPS and multimedia part. As for the seats, we can clearly call them pizza boxes – my rear end hurts just thinking about the seat. However, despite the 4 people in less than 4m, we still have plenty of storage space in the back, especially when you take into consideration the ceiling height.
Fast charging in 30 minutes and V2L/V2H
Honda still allows the vehicle to be charged in less than 30 minutes thanks to a 50kW DC socket located at the front, as on the Honda e.
On alternating current, it will be necessary only 4.5H to 6kW – a small 20A AC terminal can therefore suffice.
Even better, it will offer V2L/V2H as standard, enough to power large electrical appliances up to 1500W or even a house, although the power is a bit limited in this case. Frankly, apart from the autonomy which is a little short for long journeys, the quality/price ratio is ideal, don’t you think!
And you, would you buy such a model if it were marketed in Europe?
