MAXI-SHEET RELIABILITY. After the Mokka X and Crossland technical cousin of the Peugeot 3008. Despite common background, the German is clearly distinguished from the French. Those who find the latter goes too far in terms of styling will find further wisdom looking at the Grandland X.

Unsurprisingly, its size is very close at 4.48 m long, placing it at the heart of the family SUV segment. It thus offers a decent habitability and a sufficiently large trunkexcept for the plug-in hybrid versions.

The driving position also differs from its cousin. The whole thing is much more classic, easier to understand, but also sadder. Note that Opel has made efforts on the quality of materials to make your SUV valuable.

When it was released, the range was simple since two engines only are offered: 1.2 Turbo of 130 hp and 1.6 Diesel (or Turbo D) of 120 hp. Three levels of finishes can be associated with it: Edition, Innovation and Elite. From December 2017, a “large” 2.0 liter diesel with 177 hp comes as reinforcement, only with automatic transmission.

From April 2018, the 1.5 liter 130 hp engine, still of PSA origin, has been operating under the hood. Four months later, the 1.6 liter petrol engine with 180 hp joined the range, but public enthusiasm was understandably timid.

The Grandland the plug-in hybrid in July 2019. To mark the occasion, it offers 300 hp and four-wheel drive, like the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4. In December of the same year, a more reasonable version appeared with two-wheel drive and 225 hp under the hood.

From August 2021, the Opel enters its second half of its career. It removes the suffix X, revamps its entire front face and dashboard. A complete overhaul who deserves to be seen. The multimedia system becomes compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, level 2 autonomous driving is available as is the 360° camera. On the other hand, nothing changes on the mechanical side.

Opel resurrects l’appellation GSe with a Grandland equipped with the 300 hp plug-in hybrid version. However, there is nothing sporty about this SUV.

In April 2024, the new generation of Grandland is officially presented, its marketing began last September.
