the location of this temporary bus stop is to say the least… original (photo)

It is not always easy for the TEC and the De Lijn company to place temporary stops when there is work on a line. We have new proof of this in the north of the country, and more precisely in Steenokkerzeel, in Flemish Brabant.

De Lijn delays the 79 Tongeren/Liège by 16 minutes and since then, the Juprelle students have been late for school: “I have the impression that De Lijn is doing it on purpose”

It is there, along the Chaussée de Tervuren, that a temporary stop De Lijn has been installed. But the least we can say is that the place is not ideal. At least, not for people with disabilities, people who have difficulty getting around or even parents who walk around with a stroller.

Indeed, as this image from Laatste Nieuws shows (see Facebook post above), the stop was placed behind a small hedge. Yes, the hedge is small, but large enough to prevent many people from passing through. Obviously, the situation caused a lot of laughter on social networks and reached the ears of the mayor: “We reported this problem to De Lijn,” explained Kurt Ryon (Klaver/N-VA) to our colleagues at Laatste New. “It was probably someone who did not know the situation who, from his office, installed it there.”

De Lijn has taken matters into his own hands and the stop will be moved in the coming hours.
