Good news for Proximus customers: no “forced change”

If you had subscribed to the “Essential” plan with Proximus, you will not have to switch to the new “Light” subscription.

At the beginning of November, Proximus announced that it was replacing its Essential subscription with a new Light subscription. However, the operator did not specify in its communication whether its customers would be pushed towards the new formula.

The Essential subscription was billed at €28 per month, for 100 GB of surfing volume per month via an At home internet connection, with speeds of 50 Mbps. The new Light plan increases the speed to 100 Mbps and the volume to 200 GB per month, but the price also increases, from €28 to €39.99/month.

New customers will have to upgrade to the Light plan, but for existing ones it will be possible to stay on Essential, the operator’s spokesperson confirmed to us. So don’t panic if you had subscribed to this offer, nothing requires you to change. The new Light offer is certainly more interesting in terms of volume, but is billed €11.99 more per month. It is therefore up to you to judge whether a change of formula is a viable option…
