In a large group like Michelin, it is difficult to collect information from management, whether local as in Blanzy or at headquarters in Clermont-Ferrand. The communications department acts as a firewall and exchanges via press release (read below).
On the other hand, on the parent company side and regarding the Michelin site in Blanzy, it wanted to reestablish the truth about its production capacity. “Even though it may be fluctuating, it is at 100% of its capacity with the current staff. What the CGT says is a lie,” we kindly point out.
We are also made to understand that “the Blanzy site is not affected by partial unemployment”.
Still from Clermont, it is clearly stated that “the Cholet and Vannes sites will close, this is the only news”. So that of Blanzy is not concerned.
All the explanations which led the Michelin group to close Cholet and Vannes are supported in the management press release.
