Swisscom launches its own AI platform. The Swiss AI Platform aims to enable companies to develop AI solutions leveraging Nvidia technologies, with guaranteed data storage in Switzerland.

With the Swiss AI Platform, Swisscom is launching an infrastructure enabling companies to develop their own AI applications. This offer builds on the recent partnership concluded with Nvidia. From fall 2024, customers will have access, via the platform, to Nvidia supercomputers, generative AI services, an AI Work Hub for the development of AI solutions as well as a library of models.

The Swiss AI Platform offers services in the field of AI infrastructure, a platform and applications. Its modular design allows customers to choose and combine the necessary components flexibly according to their needs. With GPU Rental, customers gain access to the first Nvidia SuperPOD system in Switzerland, capable of processing large volumes of data, for example for training, tuning and operating models. GenAI Studio provides access to generative AI services via API interfaces, enabling the creation of AI solutions customized to the specific needs of each business. AI Work Hub targets Data Scientists who analyze, process large volumes of data, create and train models. The Swisscom Model Catalog provides a library of selected open Source models. In the future, models licensed or developed by Swisscom with partners will also be available.

Nvidia infrastructure

Nvidia’s infrastructure is particularly suited to applications based on sensitive data and which therefore require data storage and processing in Switzerland, the press release continues. In collaboration with Nvidia and international Public Cloud partners, a Swiss center of excellence for AI has been set up. Furthermore, Swisscom emphasizes that it employs around 400 AI and data specialists, who have many years of experience.

“Understanding the needs of our customers is a priority for us. On this basis, we support them in the implementation and customization of AI projects. In our high-performance and trustworthy Swiss infrastructures, sensitive data is in good hands – a Swiss solution for the Swiss economy,” says Urs Lehner, Head of Business Customers at Swisscom.
