Supporting figures: according to the international organization which represents the tomato processing industry, Chinese production should increase by 30.6% between 2023 and 2024 to reach 10.4 million tonnes out of 45.6 million planned around the world. China would overtake California (9.9 million forecast this year compared to 11.5 million last year), the world's leading producer in recent years, while Italy, in third position, should record a drop of 2.8%. at 5.2 million tonnes.
