Two young people were arrested in the south of France after a shooting outside a nightclub which left one dead and two injured.
The first suspect has been arrested “on a deal point, in the northern districts of Marseille”, according to our colleagues at AFP. He had been on the run since the tragedy that occurred during the night from Thursday to Friday.
The second was arrested at his home in Cavaillon, according to a police source, “for murder, attempted murder by an organized gang and criminal conspiracy”. It was the Drôme police officers who arrested him.
The facts date back to the night of Thursday to Friday, the evening of the Halloween party. Around 2:55 a.m. that evening, a hooded individual dressed in black fired several shots in the direction of the queue at the Le Seven nightclub, near Valence. Nearly 800 people gathered to take part in an evening.
A young man, Nicolas, hit in the head, did not survive his injuries. Two other people were injured.
The murder of Nicolas, a year after that of Thomas, killed during a ball in Crépol, in Drôme, was particularly emotional in their common rugby club, the Rugby Club Romans-Péage.
Why us? Why twice? We are stunned, everyone is affected.
Patrick Bodoin, co-president of RC Romanais Péageois
The Romanais Péageois Rugby Club has announced that it will co-organize a tribute with Nicolas’s family. “in the form of a white step”this Wednesday, November 6. A gathering that wants to be “apolitical, out of respect for the family”, the club further clarified.
A medical-psychological unit will be set up within the club from this Tuesday.
