DFrom May 29 to 31, the brightest minds in tech converged on the southern imperial city, with a strong presence of tech giants, startups and investors. This edition brought together more than 50,000 visitors from 130 different countries to discover the latest innovations presented by the 1,800 exhibitors. Gitex Africa Morocco 2024 was the vibrant home where a multitude of avant-garde ideas and solutions emerged.

From artificial intelligence to connected health, cybersecurity and smart mobility, every nook and cranny of the event was buzzing with innovation. From futuristic drone demonstrations to augmented reality simulations, visitors were transported to a world where imagination has no limits. But beyond high-tech gadgets, Gitex Africa was a real crossroads of exchange where the most determined startups shared their vision of the future with investors on the lookout for the next African unicorn. Frantic exchanges, knowing smiles and warm handshakes sealed promising partnerships and strategic alliances.

At the heart of Gitex Africa, beat the pulse of African entrepreneurship. Start-ups competed in creativity to present their innovative solutions. From blockchain to the agri-food sector, sustainable mobility and waste management, African startups have proven that they are the pioneers of a new era of prosperity and sustainability. “Gitex Africa offers a real springboard for African startups in search of financing and expertise. International investors are there to discover the talents of tomorrow and participate in the African technological revolution,” underlines a founder of a digital health startup.

“It’s a great platform to learn about the latest technologies and meet key industry players. I was able to make many promising contacts,” says an IT manager. Agreements were signed, funding released and dreams came true. The figure of 400 investors, 70% of whom were foreigners, according to the president of the company organizing the exhibition, Kaoun International, Trixie LohMirmand, testifies to the global attraction for Africa’s potential.

Beyond the figures, Gitex Africa Morocco 2024 was the symbol of a continent in full swing. Government initiatives have been announced to train the next generation of African technology leaders. Indeed, the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ghita Mezzour, who welcomed the positive results of Gitex Africa 2024, declared that “the training program for 15,000 young people in the field digital technology, with a total investment of 1.4 billion dirhams, opens new perspectives and promises a bright future for Africa.

Gitex Africa Morocco 2024 was much more than just a technology fair. This high mass was a celebration of human ingenuity, an ode to collaboration and daring. While the spotlight has faded, the spirit of Gitex Africa continues to illuminate the path to a promising technological future for the African continent and for Morocco.
