The supply of goods may once again be compromised by a labor dispute, but this time in British Columbia.

Indeed, a lockout will be triggered by the Western Canadian Province Maritime Employers Association.

This will have an impact on the largest port in Canada, Vancouver, and nearly 700 port foremen.

An entrepreneur emphasizes to LCN that the impact could be strong on SMEs across the country.

“It’s like there are layers that are added and added all the time. This increases prices in certain cases,” says the president of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, Jasmin Guénette.

A partial strike in two terminals at the Port of Montreal is still taking place, disrupting 40% of the port’s capacity.

These events occur as the holiday season approaches. In fact, for many SMEs, this is the most important period when they make the most sales. This situation could therefore have an impact on their turnover.
