A guitar once owned by Noel Gallagher, a member of the band Oasis who recently announced a comeback tour, has sold for more than £130,000 at auction in London, Sotheby’s announced on Thursday.

Estimated at 80,000 pounds (nearly 95,000 euros), the guitar, an Epiphone Les Paul Standard, was sold for 132,000 pounds (more than 156,000 euros).

She featured in both the music video and on the cover of Oasis’ first single, “Supersonic,” the statement said.

Two other guitars used by Gallager were also sold at the auction.

The members of Oasis, founded in 1991 in Manchester, split in 2009, worn down by recurring disputes between the two Gallagher brothers, who have since continued their solo careers.

The announcement of the band’s reunion sparked wild enthusiasm among fans, who flocked to online ticket sales sites on August 31 to try to get tickets.

But the search for tickets has turned into chaos, with many criticising waiting lists and the dysfunction of the platforms, particularly the giant Ticketmaster UK. The British competition authority has subsequently opened an investigation against the reseller.
