A major accident on Highway 10 led to the closure of three out of four lanes late Thursday evening.

A vehicle may have left the road on the central reservation, said Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Camille Savoie. The incident appears “major,” she added.

The event occurred on Highway 10 heading east around 8:15 p.m. near Brossard, at kilometer 14.

No other vehicle is believed to have been involved in the accident.

The accident, however, caused the closure of three out of four lanes, mentioned Quebec 511, on its X account.

“Closure of 3 out of 4 lanes on the A-10 between km 22, Carignan and Montée Gobeil, Brossard, west and east,” wrote the government body.

Congestion is expected for motorists attempting to travel in the area.
