(Alliance News) – SIT Spa announced on Tuesday that its subsidiary Janz, specializing in the production of residential water meters, has won a public tender for the supply abroad of 99,600 smart water meters.

Of these meters, 80,000 will be delivered over the next three years. Through this agreement, the beneficiary city will be able to install Janz smart water meters across 75% of its user base.

The total value of the tender is 13 million euros and Janz’s share is around 6.1 million euros.

The water meters that Janz will provide are smart, meaning they report readings and send alerts on demand, allowing for a very high degree of accuracy of the natural resource. Volumetric meters with the ‘LoRA’ extension and MyWater software for remote management of consumption data.

Gianpaolo Anselmi, Head of the Water Metering Division of the SIT Group, said: “For Janz, the award of this contract is the result of development work in progress for some time, in a very promising new European market for us The need to improve the communications infrastructure of public services is felt in many countries and is part of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. We hope that this award will be the start of a series of transactions. which will continue to position the SIT group as a reference in the international water metering market.”
