For generations, Thanksgiving has called us to celebrate the abundance and quality of the harvest.

For generations, here, we have taken a break in mid-October to take full advantage of the remarkable work of our agricultural producers.

For generations, it’s been much more than a holiday!

Diversity

Being able to count on men and women who cultivate our territory with heart represents a great wealth for Quebec.

Thanks to them, we have fresh and tasty food available every day, and their presence throughout the territory energizes our regions like no other economic activity.

Our agriculture can be proud of its diversity. From large family farms to small organic operations, from traditional livestock farming to innovative initiatives in urban agriculture, each model contributes to enriching the unique mosaic of our agricultural landscape.

Our vision of increasing our food autonomy is not just a distant dream, it is a reality that is built every day, with every harvest, with every purchase and on every plate.

Promote local products

Your government, and particularly the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, will always answer the call to support these “delicious entrepreneurs”. Whether by offering support programs, launching innovation initiatives or promoting local products, our mission aims to ensure that our farmers can progress and give free rein to their passion.

The more we choose to put Quebec products on our plates, the more collectively we will gain… There is no greater thank you.

Let’s raise our forks high to salute those who contribute to building a stronger, more sustainable and more gourmet Quebec!

Happy end of harvest, and thank you!

André Lamontagne

Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food
