An unusual incident disrupted a flight linking Agadir to Lyon this week. Due to the “extremely confrontational” behavior of a passenger, the crew was forced to request an emergency diversion to Malaga airport.
According to Spanish air traffic controllers, the individual did not comply with the crew’s instructions, requiring rapid intervention. The Malaga airport authorities were immediately alerted and put in place a specific reception system to manage this delicate situation. Once the plane landed, the police intervened to control the disruptive passenger.

“We have done everything possible to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew,” air traffic controllers said on social media. They also highlighted the exemplary coordination between the different actors involved, from the crew to the control tower including the police services.
