Interviewed on a podcast in Flanders “Talk With Charly”, the Minister of Justice Paul Van Tigchelt was invited to discuss immigration and more mainly the Vlaams Belang proposal to stop all immigration in our country. However, the liberal made comments that risk shocking.

Indeed, Paul Van Tigchelt expressed his point of view on this measure, judging the cessation of immigration to Belgium “neither necessary nor desirable”. He illustrated his remarks by asking questions such as: “Who takes care of our homes? Who installs our plumbing? Who cleans our windows at home?”

Faced with the indignant reaction of a podcaster, the minister clarified his position by emphasizing: “Take away immigration and our economy stops.” “That’s better,” replied Charly Badibanga, host of the podcast.

Paul Van Tigchelt then listed several personalities he considers to be “the wealth of immigration”, citing directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, as well as footballers Marouane Fellaini and Vincent Kompany.
