The Spanish furniture brand, Kave Home, will set up in the location left vacant by the departure of the Truffaut garden center last December.

Commerce is an eternal beginning. The Truffaut garden center in the former Grand Hôtel at 31, rue de , in , opened in March 2018, closed last December. And it is a furniture brand, still little known in but which could well make a splash, Kave Home, which will take the emblematic location of this artery and the city center of Toulouse.

Born on the other side of the Pyrenees, in Spain, in Girona where it still has its headquarters, Kave Home offers a wide range of furniture and decorative objects. Sofas, chairs, tables, garden furniture, crockery, lighting… Kave Home aims to “create design and quality products” and assures, still on its website, that it has “obsession with every little detail”. The chain designs, manufactures and distributes.

It was born in the 1980s from the creativity of Francesc Julià, a professional turner and former sales agent in the furniture industry. The brand itself was created in 2013 and the first stores appeared in Spain in 2019. Today, the brand has spread to many countries and is enjoying a success story. It has opened six stores in France But, when asked, it says nothing about its Toulouse location although the deal has been signed since the beginning of the year.

A street under construction

Kave Home will therefore be established where Habitat was located, between 2011 and 2017, before leaving for the Compans shopping center. Habitat, now in liquidation since December, which has closed all its stores in France.

The Spanish brand will arrive in a street currently undergoing construction and which will be pedestrianized at the end of the project, from mid-2025. In sections, workers dig trenches for planting trees and gradually lay porphyry paving stones. This is already the case with the future furniture brand.

The enormous construction site of the François-Verdier station of the third metro line continues, at the entrance to the street, until 2026.
