Cdiscount Voyages has just published its barometer on trends in French flights and stays in the first quarter.

For the marketplace, flights to foreign destinations have regained color: trips abroad have increased significantly with +21% in the number of air passengers.

It also confirms the decline in prices with a drop in fares on flights of around -1.6% in Q1 2024 compared to Q1 2023.

Still regarding the air, Algeria (+323%), Morocco (+71%), Tunisia (+12%), Portugal (+18%) and the States (+20%) make up the TOP 5 destinations abroad (by country).

Particularly significant increases are observed for Algeria (+323%) – which can be explained by new lines opened by companies -, Thailand (+131%), Greece (+72%), Morocco ( +71%), Canada (+37%), the United States (+20%) and Portugal (+18%).

On the other hand, several destinations are in decline, notably Guadeloupe (-45%), Turkey (-21%), United Arab Emirates (-38%), (-33%) and Mexico (-12%) . In , remains the most attractive destination (+21%) compared to which shows a drop of more than 27%.

Purchasing behavior is changing, according to Cdiscount Voyages. The reservation window has for the first time fallen below the two-month mark with an average anticipation of 58 days (-5% vs. 2023).

This is reflected in particular by an increase in reservations for the month of April (+10%) and the May/June period (+5%). Summer reservations are, for the moment, down -5%.
