With his novel Stand upreleased in bookstores on August 14, the author is back at the top of the best-seller lists.

Mélissa Da Costa’s success in bookstores is confirmed with each release. Her new novel, Stand up (Albin Michel), is, in fact, in first place among the best-selling books in France according to the site Books Weekly. A new consecration for the author, who became in 2023 the most read writer in the country, even dethroning Guillaume Musso, in the lead for 12 consecutive years.

Stand up is her eighth novel, and Mélissa Da Costa deals in particular with the mechanisms within a couple, in a closed-door setting dealing with love, intimacy and despair. Stand up is one of the big titles of the summer and the literary rentrée, and Mélissa Da Costa’s universe is also expanding in a new way in this month of August 2024. Indeed, her novel All the blue of the sky was adapted into a comic strip by Carbonne and Juliette Bertaudière for Albin Michel publishing, allowing the author’s first great success to reach a new audience. As for her book Women from the End of the World (2023), it will soon be adapted for the cinema by filmmaker Géraldine Danon.
