A year 2024, French edition – La Médiatrice

I was a little shocked during the section on 2024 figures in the French edition. In fact, you present the decline in purchases of new books as bad news and you recommend taxing purchases of used books. Personally, I believe that the publishing industry should focus on quality and not numbers. My ecological sensibility shudders to see all these trees that we cut down to produce more and more books, some of which are poorly written, commercial and which will perhaps end up in the pestle, while the practice of buying books opportunity allows more people to read, to choose books that are not necessarily recent and fashionable, is cheaper and causes fewer trees to be cut down.
