Tireless and brilliant researcher in children’s literature, Jean Perrot worked at the University of Paris 13, today Sorbonne Paris Nord University, and founded in 1994 the International Charles Perrault Institute located at the Hôtel de Mézières, in Eaubonne. A place of resources, research and training on children’s literature, the International Charles Perrault Institute became a unique place, a bridge between the academic world and the associative world responsible for promoting reading, and bringing together literature lovers from youth from many countries: Japan, England, Morocco, Algeria, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, United States…
This conference aims to create a space for memory but also for discussion around its heritage and the future of children’s literature. In association with the EnJe (Childhood and Youth) team at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, it offers the opportunity to discover the Charles Perrault International Institute, and to attend interventions on subjects dear to Jean Perrot: interculturality, play and humor, albums, stories, the transmission of children’s literature. Story-telling readings and round tables are also planned with publishing houses, authors, illustrators and associative circles.
