DAZN wants to renegotiate its contract downwards!

Earlier, Vincent Labrune, president of the LFP, proclaimed his support for DAZN. “We achieved the feat of launching a product in less than two weeks without any bugs or black screens. Then yes, they may have made a mistake by hitting the prices a little hard at the start. But we all learn as we go. We are fully behind them.”

DAZN has an exit clause

But nothing works. It doesn't take. According to RMCDAZN recently communicated to the LFP the number of its subscribers. The figure has not yet been leaked, but the media assures that the broadcaster is absolutely not satisfied. Last November, RMC assured that the number of subscribers was around 400,000. Since then, it seems that it has not increased as desired. And the bar of 1.5 million faithful seems very far away. But that's not all. At the broadcaster's headquarters, many estimate that 90% of subscribers who could be lured into their net have already been lured. Clearly, no one sees an explosion of subscriptions coming.

The LFP refused to comment on the information, but it is more bad news for L1 clubs who are already sticking their tongues out with this contract which has already suffered a big drop. As a reminder, DAZN has an exit clause in December 2025 if the 1.5 million subscriber mark is not reached.
