Haute-Corse and Corse-du-Sud had been placed on orange rain-flood alert since Saturday evening.
Météo-France had previously indicated that the precipitation would “strengthen oneself“Saturday late afternoon, and would be”sometimes stormy on the coast” of South Corsica. The organization had announced in its forecasts on Saturday morning cumulative rainfall of between 150 and 220 mm by Sunday evening.
But it didn't happen.
Sunday evening the prefectures of Corsica indicated the end of orange vigilance. On the other hand, the yellow for “rain-floods“was still required until midnight and vigilance and”storm yellow“until Monday morning at 6 a.m.
Over the entire episode, since the first rains on Saturday, we have generally recorded between 50 and 70 mm on the eastern facade and up to 100 mm in the central range. The quantities of snow that fell are estimated at around 20 cm on the rain/snow line located at 1300 m, and up to 50 cm on the summits.
