Why only them? Because smokers concentrate 80 % of the victims of this particularly deadly cancer. Each year, pulmonary tumors affect 53,000 new people in and kill 30,400. Five years after the diagnosis, barely one in five patients is still alive because in three quarters of the cases cancer is detected at a stage already too advanced. “As soon as the disease is evolved, this is almost nothingness of the chances of healing,” emphasizes Professor Norbert Ifrah, president of the Inca. However, when a tumor of the lung is taken at the beginning, small and localized, it is curable by surgery ”.
