Since 2022, the Department of Vaucluse has been committed, through its health plan, to against medical desertification and to guarantee access to care for all Vauclusians. Nine general practitioners have already been recruited and work as salaried doctors of the Department in the various health centers. The first opened in Avignon in February 2023, two others opened in Cadenet and Apt. A fourth is setting up in Sorgues at the start of 2024.
It is located on the Cours de la République, a stone's throw from the car park, the pharmacy and the shops. It was set up in premises of 130 m², which previously housed a bank branch. In collaboration with Sorgues Town Hall, major work was carried out in 2024 so that this space is perfectly adapted to best receive patients and offer healthcare professionals a functional work tool with new equipment.
