Literature never ceases to inspire cinema. The proof with these 10 cinematographic and serial adaptations planned soon.

Literature has always been a source of inspiration for cinema and the world of series. In 2024, many novels have had the right to their adaptation, like “L’Amour ouf” by Neville Thompson, “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas, “Their Children After Them” by Nicolas Mathieu or “The Color Purple” by Alice Walker.

In terms of series, the platforms also took over certain novels last year. Netflix, for example, this year offered miniseries such as “Three Body Problems” by Liu Cixin and “Ripley” by Patricia Highsmith. On the Disney+ side, “Shogun”, adapted from the book by James Clavell, had a great time on the platform, winning several Emmy Awards including that for best drama series.

The most anticipated film and series adaptations

In 2025 or in the (very) near future, several adaptations should see the light of day. Among the most tempting, we note “Changer l’eau des fleurs” by Valérie Perrin, the production of which was entrusted to Jean-Pierre Jeunet. “All the blue in the sky” by Mélissa Da Costa, broadcast on TF1 at the end of January, the phenomenon “The Maid” by Freida McFadden. Without forgetting “Living with the Dead” by Delphine Horvilleur and “Connemara” by Nicolas Mathieu, directed by Alex Lutz.
