Wednesday December 18, the Mouilleron library hosted an original and creative workshop.
Led by Justine Bourdeau, cultural mediator on the network of libraries in the country of La Châtaigneraie, and with the support of volunteers, the participants transformed “weeded” Books into unique and eco-responsible Christmas decorations.
Young and old folded, cut out and assembled pages to create snowflakes, stars, crowns and tassels. These decorations, made from books destined to no longer be used, offer a beautiful second life to these works while beautifying the end of year celebrations
explains a volunteer.
Justine Bourdeau explains: The objective is to reuse these books, to avoid throwing them away, while offering participants a moment of sharing and creativity accessible to all.
The participants expressed their pride in leaving with decorations made by their hands while enjoying a fun, ecological and intergenerational moment.
A new workshop on the same theme is planned at the Breuil-Barret library on Saturday morning, December 21.
Please note that the library will be closed until Saturday January 4.
