They are made available to readers who go to the library to find what they are looking for.
The municipal library located on Avenue Joffre offers a varied choice of novels, historical works, detective stories and local stories for adults. Children also have their illustrated albums, comics, mangas, and short novels. Open to the public on Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., this friendly place where a friendly atmosphere reigns and the pleasure of getting together is run by five dedicated Corneillanaises and volunteers: Anne-Marie, Maguy, Françoise, Michèle and Corinne.
Children at the leisure center
A municipal employee, Virginie, goes there every Monday to assist them with IT. The welcome is warm and they are there to advise readers, direct them towards Books likely to please them, label the volumes, repair them (this is mainly Michèle’s work) and buy new works at a rate of around thirty per quarter. Individuals sometimes donate books to them and the Thuir departmental library lends them to them regularly. The choice of reading is therefore multiple, important and diverse. On Wednesday mornings, once a month, the library welcomes children from the leisure center who, under the leadership of Sylviane from the Lire et faire lire association, come to discover a new album.
For these Corneillanaise volunteers, it is an immense pleasure to open the library to readers from the village, to meet them around the works, to get to know each other and to enjoy moments of joy and delight shared between them. 65 adults attend regularly by paying a membership of €10 per year and 49 children are welcomed there free of charge.
