Appropriate CostsI have known her for a long time, Le Pré du Plain published her first book in 2008! The love of animals is omnipresent in his daily professional practice – she is one of the pioneers of equine shiatsu in France –, just as much as in her thoughts, since she is involved in several associations working for the animal cause and writes on this theme. Imagine how captivated she must have been by the paintings of Béatrice Boisseau-Chapuisdiscovered during the National Animal Artists Show in 2021! This is also what she explained to me when she contacted me in 2023. After a few discussions, Opportune suggested that Béatrice write on some of her paintings, and the latter acquiesced.
When the raw material for this book arrived in my hands, I was won over in turn. I often say that an editor is someone who transforms precious stones into engraved jewels. This was particularly the case for this project. How can we allow the masterful pictorial work to flourish just as much as the poetry of the texts giving it a sensible and sensitive echo? By creating a collection to receive them, “Pré-au-carré”, the 19e from our catalog: a square format allowing you to “enjoy even more words and images than usual. »

Opportune Coste and the animals, it’s the story of a life! For her part, Béatrice Boisseau-Chapuis has exhibited for more than 20 years in Parisian and provincial salons as well as abroad. She has been awarded several prizes and distinctions. Guest of honor in numerous exhibitions, she can be found in galleries as well as at the Grand Palais.
