Partir en Livre, the great book festival for young people – La Liberté

Leave in Book, entertainment in all forms
Every year in July, the festival Leave in Book rhythm the cultural life of the cities of France. Thanks to the mobilization of libraries, associations, authors and illustrators, more than 7000 manifestations come into being and bring together more than 700,000 visitors around children’s books. From meeting to readingof writing to the stagingthese events take multiple forms. HAS Lyon in 2020, it was for example at Parc Miribel Jonage and Quais du Polar that Leave in Book offered activities and entertainment to the youngest.
Pour Leave in Book 2019, in Coulommiers near Toulouse, the town organized a meeting with the illustrator Amandine Szczepaniak for a watercolor workshop. That same year at Marseillethe Fotokino studio organized a meeting with the author Caroline Gamon. In 2016, on the famous Leisure Island of Cergy we could gather around numerous workshops accessible to under 25s; among them, “the city – its noises”, “music slam”, “creation of characters”, “collective creation of a youth album” or even an animation “No truce for dreams”. Two years later, in 2018, at BordeauxPartir en Livre was celebrated at the lake beach, where you could, for example, take part in a chimera creation workshop with the author Julien Gore.
Go on a Book trip to La Courneuve: a real literary amusement park
Since 2016, the largest event for the Partir en Livre festival. For a week, the park La Courneuve in Seine-Saint-Denis becomes a huge literary amusement park.
It is in fact in a space of 10,000 m² that around twenty activities around the children’s book are organized to give a taste for reading to the children who come to take part in the event. Every year, the park welcomes around 20,000 people, young and old! Everywhere in France, entertainment is free et accessible to allthe real reason for the event.
