The correspondent of Figaro in London received the Marine Writers' Prize as well as the Marine Ink Prize, rewarding a novel dedicated to the beauty of the open sea and “all the good that the sea can do to the soul”.
The second prize for Marine Writers was awarded on Wednesday November 19 to Arnaud de La Grange, correspondent for Figaro in London, author of The Promise of the Sea. This great reward was given to him at the Mob House in Saint-Ouen, a beautiful establishment located at the end of a line, which is not that of a transatlantic liner ensuring the Paris-New York connection, but the 13 of the Paris metro.
The jury was there, as if at the end of the pier, around President Patrice Franceschi, to welcome the winner. We noted the presence of the writer and publisher Olivier Frébourg, Admiral Loïc Finaz, writers Jean Rolin, Dominique Le Brun and Katell Faria. So many contemporary authors, whose Books are a defense and an illustration of the maritime imagination. Founded in 2003 by Jean-François Deniau, the Marine Writers aim to turn literature towards the open sea, this horizon little known to the French.
