BOOK / A unique look at the link between bees and flowers: an approach that is both scientific and practical.
For his second book, Hubert Guerriat takes us on a fascinating path through botany and ecology. Accompanied by numerous photos and diagrams, it makes us discover the intimacy between the flower and the bee with all the pedagogy that we know, thus offering the reader a source of wonder and a new look at the work of the beekeeper.
From flower to honey reveals unsuspected secrets of Mother Nature that the author explains, analyzes and illustrates with attractive diagrams. The knowledge gathered in From flower to honey are based both on scientific data, often little present in beekeeping literature, and on more than 40 years of naturalistic observations by the author.
This book is also intended to be very practical. It invites, among other things, to observe its immediate environment, to evaluate the resources of its bees or to establish its flowering calendar. He describes step by step how to make it and apply it to his work in the apiary.
It is a didactic, relevant and above all unpublished beekeeping book, the book that Hubert Guerriat would have wanted to find in bookstores. Its clear structure, its summaries at the end of the chapter and its clever index make it easy to understand.
Numerous carefully selected photos enhance and illustrate the content of this exceptional book. The database, which describes the beekeeping characteristics of more than 500 honey species, is undoubtedly the most comprehensive published to date.
From flower to honey establishes itself as an essential companion for Be efficient in beekeepinga work by the same author that has become over the years the favorite reference for many beekeepers (20,000 copies sold!). It will also appeal to nature lovers who will discover, be surprised and marvel at the ingenuity of the fine interactions and signals exchanged between the flower and the bee.
