This Sunday, the 27th Mirepoix Book Fair, known as “Mirenpages”, will be held in the hall of Place Maréchal Leclerc.
From 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., this event will bring together around sixty authors, five publishers, five booksellers and four associations, all present to introduce you to their latest literary works and to participate in the competitions for the three prizes awarded this year by the reading committee.
After several years under the presidency of Pierre Sabatier, a new motivated and dynamic team has taken over. Marie-Dominique Chamard, the new president, is pleased: “The challenge was huge and we are very happy that the authors and publishers are back after a two-year hiatus.”
The reading committee, coordinated by Nicole Reding-Hourcade, will award three prizes: the Joseph Laurent Olive Prize, rewarding a work of local history, the Jury’s Coup de Cœur Prize, for any other literary genre, and the Prize of Unusual, attributed to a particularly original work.
This year marks a transitional phase for the show. “Our intention for the future is to attract more authors and visitors and to offer activities around books by bringing together different Mirepoix partners such as bookstores, the school campus and independent artists. For example, we will offer readings , presentations of works, challenges…”, explains Marie-Dominique Chamard.
