For her first participation in the MIF Expo, from November 8 to 11, 2024, she shared with us her vision of a craft that is both local and open to the world.

Co-created with his partner Romain, a graduate carpenter from Gobelins, the workshop embodies the spirit of French craftsmanship by offering toys and books created with care and passion Albertville. Thanks to a unique combination of craftsmanship and innovation, the couple intends to promote this know-how well beyond local borders, while maintaining the authenticity and quality of Made in .

Can you tell us about your business?

LAtelier de la Belle Étoile is a company engaged in the manufacturing of books and toys in Savoie. All our products are made in an artisanal manner, entirely handmade, from design to painting.

“Our toys travel all over the world”

So your production is entirely local?

Yes, everything happens internally, in Savoie. We take care of every step: from design to manufacturing, everything is done by hand at our house.

Is your clientele local, national or international?

Our clientele is varied. It is, of course, national, but we also have an international presence, and our toys travel all over the world.

Belle Etoile workshop in Albertville: “Not artificial intelligence, but our creative intelligence”

Why are you exhibiting at MIF Expo this year?

We want to make ourselves known to a wider audience and show that we are 100% made in France.

You won a prize from the Chamber of Trades and Crafts. Can you tell us more?

We received the Artinov prize which rewards innovation in craftsmanship. We have introduced a new way of making our toys, by integrating a computer-controlled machine. This allows us to remain competitive while improving the precision of our products.

Is there a bit of artificial intelligence in your manufacturing process?

No, not artificial intelligence, but our creative intelligence. We program the machine for specific tasks, such as drilling, to gain speed and precision. It is a help, but the know-how remains manual and artisanal.

What ages are your toys made for children?

Our toys are intended for children of all ages, although we do not recommend them for children under 36 months, due to the small parts. Our creations particularly appeal to children up to 8 or 9 years old, but also to adults who love beautiful objects.
