Beaumont-de-Lomagne: the Children's Book Fair, a rich cultural edition accessible to all

The president of the sociocultural association Maryline Ducassé, Jean-Claude Bonnefoi, deputy mayor representing Jean-Luc Deprince, and Jean-Claude Sentis, representing Bernard Salomon, president of the community of communes, welcomed this new edition of the Children's book fair, which has been taking place since Thursday in Beaumont-de-Lomagne (Tarn-et-Garonne).
The chosen theme is “In search of books” with guests Jean-Christophe Tixier and Sophie Laroche.
Jean-Christophe Tixier is the author of more than thirty novels for different ages, for youth and adults. He also wrote short stories and comic book scripts. Sophie Laroche devotes most of her time to children's writing.

She enjoys meeting young people, especially in schools. The Book Fair has established itself as an unmissable event enriching the rural cultural landscape.
The municipality, like the community of communes, attaches importance to cultural events accessible to all which bring the public together.

These three days devoted to books invited visitors to discover various workshops, listen to stories, attend shows, participate in conferences, such as that of Alain Cagnati on cryptography and above all exchange with authors. The Book Fair is in fact the culmination of events around books carried out all year round by the media library as part of its community missions, by Fermat Science as part of the social life space, and theater workshops and storytelling sessions offered by the sociocultural association. The Book Fair offers a unique opportunity to meet authors, on site or in schools. Many classes come from all over the community to meet the authors and participate in the various workshops.

Saturday's appointments

– From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: board games workshop;
– From 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: writing workshop with JC Tixier;
From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: signings with author Sophie Laroche;
– From 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: signings with author JC Tixier;
– At 4:30 p.m., “SOS Doudou” show with the company Les Astronambules. Pure and gentle polar… (from 4 years old).
Eve's vacation starts off rather badly: as soon as she arrives home, she realizes that she has lost her blanket. She calls on Mister Doudou, a detective equipped with gadgets as unusual as they are ineffective to find her beloved stuffed animal.
