And yes, summer vacation is fast approaching! And for the occasion, we have prepared a small selection of books for you to read by the beach.

Peter Doherty – A Charming Boy

This is an artist who has been talked about a lot in the media. But for all that, he had never really given his personal version of the facts. It is now done. With A Charming Boy, Peter Doherty tells us behind the scenes of success and media coverage. It’s sometimes tragic but we still laugh quite often and above all we learn a lot of things. Because yes, if in this book we talk a lot about Carl Westof the Libertinesof the Babyshambles or the solo career of Peter Dohertywe also find many anecdotes about some very nice people who crossed paths with Doherty. We think, for example, of Amy Winehouse, Kate Mossbrothers GallagherTHE Strokes, Supergrass, Razorlight, Bernard Butler…And for this reason, it is a book intended for those who love Dohertyyes, but also to those who love music in general.

Barney Hoskyns – Led Zep: Glory and decadence of the biggest group in the world

Attention fans of Led Zeppelin. This book is probably the most complete that exists on the group. Why? Because it is not an ordinary book but a compilation of excerpts from interviews transcribed in chronological order. Some interviews were conducted by the author of the book, others not. But what is interesting is that among the people interviewed, we find of course each member of the group Led Zeppelin but also their groupies, their press attaché, the bosses of their record companies, musicians influenced by them (Tony Iommi, Keith Richards, Marianne Faithfull…), their family, their managers and co-managers… And this diversity of points of view means that we never get bored and that we find it difficult to put down this book. Thanks to them, we learn everything about Led Zeppelin. And as we finish the book, we only want to listen to their discography again with this new reading.

Simon Halfon – Oasis Supersonic The Complete, authorised and uncut interview

In 2016, the documentary Supersonic retraced the group’s career Oasis from the beginning until August 1996. For this film, hours of interviews had to be recorded. But not all of them could be retained. This is why they are now all available in this book. And certainly there are several passages that we have already heard in the film. But there are at least twenty pages which are completely new. Here again, we learn a lot of things. And then the brothers Gallagher being punchline experts, we also laugh a lot. In addition, there are also superb photos, some of which have never been seen before. The negative point ? No French version of this book exists. But at the same time, how to translate the brothers’ expressions Gallagher in French without losing what makes them charming?
