The ninth edition of the Arcambal Book and Image Festival invites you to discover publishing and bookbinding. It will be Saturday November 23 and Sunday November 24, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the cultural space. Publishers, authors, artists, artisans will be present with their books, the result of a collaboration between photography, collage, painting and writing.
Darina Raskova, dreams and metamorphoses
To celebrate this entry into this world of dreams and metamorphosis, the guest of honor, Darina Raskova, painter, born in Czechoslovakia and based in Luzech, publishes for the first time her stories with animals. Present on her stand for two days, she will sign her books and invite you to delve into her work. Darina is also an embroiderer, designer, painter, photographer…
The public will be able to meet other artists and authors: illuminator Serge Barlan, Dany Bataille, Anne-Marie Beeckman, Kämy Dobi, Marie Droullé, Jean-François Duloir, Brigitte Guilhot, Gilles Lades, Yves Leclair, Natacha Nikouline, Alain Prillard (present Sunday afternoon) and Christian Verdun.
Several publishers will be present, coming from Lot or neighboring departments. Les Lotois est Arts Pauvres editions with Alexandra Pouzet, L’étoile des Limites by Gérard Martin, Jean-Claude Loubières editions, Pluie d’étoiles by Jean-Louis and Patricia Troïanowski. There will also be the Cadran Ligné by Laurent Albarracin (from Corrèze), the Pierre Mainard editions (from Lot-et-Garonne) and the Drôme house Drosera from Christiane and Claude Ballaré.
Readings, signings, bookbinding demonstrations
Finally, these two days offer a rich program starting with exhibitions by Darina Raskova, Claude Ballaré and Natacha Nikouline. The authors will be signing continuously with a few focuses: Yves Leclair on both days, Anne-Marie Beeckman and Alain Prillard on Sunday afternoon. Reading times are scheduled: by Pierre Mainard, Mehdi Ait-Ali, Jean-Marie Delahaye, Maryse Vaugarny, Saturday. Sunday, Henri Robert will read texts by Alain Prillard and Yves Leclair. Annie Verdun from the Lire et faire lire association will do readings for the children. Let us also mention the presence of Nathalie Julia from the Calligramme bookstore and La Petite Faiseuse de livres, Béatrice Jaques and Étienne Cronier. During the two days, the public will be able to discover the stages of binding with Béatrice Jaques.
School workshops were led by Myriam Brossard and Théodora Chastagnol. The work of the schoolchildren will be exhibited as will the micro-publishing research of the STD2A final year students practicing visual arts from the Saint-Étienne high school.
