The Pont-Saint-Esprit Book Festival association and the Le Chant de la terre bookstore have, for this 12th edition of the Book Festival, put together eight days of very diverse events, cinema, meetings with authors and illustrators , conference, shows, readings, workshops, exhibitions,
school interventions or even short story competitions.

For this great program, the association can count on its partners: the Librairie Le Chant de la terre, Ciné102, the City Cultural Service, the Popular University of Gard Rhodanien, the Museum of Sacred Art of Gard, the Media Library of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, the Municipal Library, the Music Conservatory of the Gard Rhodanien Agglomeration, the EHPAD of the Pont-St-Esprit Hospital, as well as as the House of Solidarity Alternatives.
A 12th “SAUVAGE” edition
This is the theme of the Festival this year. Thus, dear readers and future visitors of this 12th edition, you will be invited to explore WILD, a term with multiple facets. On the program, numerous events will be found, from Saturday November 16 to Friday November 22: writing workshops, book fair, results of the short story competition, exhibitions, sales, conferences, creative activities for young and old, films screened at Ciné102 , meetings and signing sessions with the guest authors of this edition, poetic and musical readings, stories in the media library, theater at the Scène-Chapelle or even readings aloud.
Some highlights of the Book Festival
To make your mouth water, dear readers, here is a selection of some highlights not to be missed for this literary and artistic week.
- Saturday November 16the libraries will do their big weeding, with a book fair planned from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The same day, the village hall will welcome authors Denis INFANTE (2:30 p.m.) and Lune VUILLEMIN (4 p.m.). Stéphane DURAND, director of the Mondes Sauvages collection at Acte Sud. - Sunday November 17, the authors Zineb MEKOUAR, Pierre CHAVAGNE and Sandrine CNUDDE will be waiting for you for meetings and signing sessions.
The weekend will be marked by activities such as a book hut, a big quiz for children, or even readings aloud, from 5 years old. - Monday November 18a conference “Naître animal” will be hosted at Ciné102.
- Tuesday November 19in the courtyard of the Sacred Art Museum of Gard, a poetic reading will be offered by an actress and storyteller. The teachers and students of the Gard Rhone Music Conservatory will also invite you to join them for a sublime evening!
- Wednesday November 20the “Wild Tales” show will awaken your senses at 3:30 p.m., in the village hall!
- Thursday November 21theater evening at the Scène-Chapelle! “Who Killed Jack Johnson?” », an interactive survey to discover urgently, reservations at 04 66 82 19 70.
- Friday November 22the meeting with actor director screenwriter Lucas Belvaux will precede the closing aperitif of this 12th edition of the Book Festival.
