Every Saturday, an update on the public’s favorite works.

Two arrivals this week in the ranking. The cuckoo of the Swedish queen of crime fiction Camilla Läckberg comes in 4th place and the beast of the Franco-American Phœbe Hadjimarkos Clarke appears in 7th. Aliene borrows certain codes from science fiction and horror but it is above all a political manifesto. Fauvel lost an eye following an LBD shot during a yellow vest demonstration. She feels foreign to this society before befriending Hannah, the cloned dog of a friend’s father, accused of mutilating neighboring herds. In Phoebe Hadjimarkos Clarke’s second novel, there is an expression of fear of others, rage and violence. She writes : “There’s no need to look in space, we’re sure we’re being exploited”. His text pleased the Inter Book jury at the prescribing price: Aliene has seen its sales increase since the beginning of June with nearly 9,000 copies sold to date. Editions du Sous-Sol have launched the reprinting of 30,000 copies. Aliene is on the road. CG-D.
