Friday November 15, 2024, the Livres in Room bookstore is offering a meeting with Olivier Brisson, author of the work “For an undisciplined psychiatry”. This meeting is organized as part of the 14th edition of Libres en literature, an event organized by the Fédération des cafés-librairies de Bretagne.
In his book, Olivier Brisson offers a constructive critique of his career as a psychomotor therapist. For him, psychiatry must find a human face. It acts as a partner for people with weakened vitality and families in order to recreate connections and meaning. His remarks are illuminated by numerous examples drawn from his experience. It also probes the history of psychiatry and the evolution of representations of madness or the margins, with regard to existing models of society. Finally, Olivier Brisson invites us to take advantage of existing alternative practices, in particular the arts, places of sensitive experimentation.
