Glouglous, mushrooms, antiques, old books… Five ideas for outings for this weekend in the Dordogne

CEvery November 11, Varaignes, in Périgord Vert, receives thousands of visitors for its Turkey Fair. The well-established recipe will be modified a little on Monday, with the return of poultry confinement due to avian flu: the 9 a.m. parade will take place with a single turkey, installed in a transparent plastic cage. But the brotherhoods will be there, and the magic potion will be distributed on this occasion… In addition to the numerous producer stands, craft and fairground activities all day long, we will find the usual highlights: at 10 a.m., the commemoration of the Armistice of 1918; at 12 p.m., the inductions and at 4 p.m., the picturesque gurgling competition. If the folk meal is full, you can eat on site, without booking, in particular by tasting boudindon, made from the famous poultry of course… Free entry.

As in 2021, measures were taken due to the avian flu epidemic.
