A lot of ground has been covered for what is one of the great classic outdoor events in the town of Coulommiers. The book fair, we tend to forget, hit hard from its first edition in 2011 under the leadership of Columérien Stéphane Million.

It brought together 30 authors and a godmother like no other on the theme of cinema: Mélanie Laurent (I’m fine, don’t worry, Inglourious Basterdsby Tarantino).

Among the first rich vintage, people who are always talked about like Murielle Magellan (for the cinema), Victoria Bedos (co-writer of the Bélier family) and Philippe Jaenada.

Even covid-19 did not get the better of this organization, it continued, with other goodwill at the helm, to arrive at a 13th edition with names that appeal to sports fans. Gilles Navarro, formerly of the Team, immediately comes to mind, he is the author who will make the longest trip leaving the Pyrénées-Orientales to offer his writings on rugby, that’s good Brie is land rugby.

Olivier Villepreux (formerly of the Team) will also have his say on the oval ball, the oval is his hobby.

Stéphane Floccari as guest of honor

Another reference in another sport, football, the guest of honor Stéphane Floccari comes with an impressive multi-faceted CV. Associate professor of philosophy in a high school in Saint-Maur, he is also a lecturer at the Sorbonne and INSEP.

How is this selection carried out? Quite simply, with a lot of work upstream by members of the library who contact the authors in relation to the theme. The challenge being to renew the authors as much as possible, with the Olympic Games approaching, sport stood out as the piece of choice. It will thus put the spotlight back on a local, former rugby player, Yann Moigneau. Remember that he released his first book, Resilience, which sold 200 copies, the opportunity for him to return to his land, he started playing rugby at Parc des Capucins. She keeps a rich experience from her first, Aurélie Moulin was from the era of masks at the show in 2021.

The young author, already three books under her belt, will offer words of love that are more than sporting with Your heart will still remember. Because parity is almost respected, 10 authors dedicated to sport, 11 for all tastes. When a 9-year-old girl is a candidate for the baccalaureate, a 16-year-old girl takes part in the book fair, Call Me Calista is a book made for young audiences eager for adventure in a sumptuous kingdom.

Note that the Deux Muses bookstore will allow the public to order the works of the authors present at the show, some could be victims of their success as sport is so unifying.

Ask for the program

It will all start with a meeting with two authors on Friday June 14 at the library, at 2:30 p.m., they are Laurent Fayeulle with Les jeux de Paris n’aura pas lieu and Quentin Leseigneur with Dix-huit ans, pas trop idiot, deux enigmatic titles! On Saturday June 15, the show is held at the Parc des Capucins with a rich menu and entertainment.

Let’s mention at 10:30 a.m. the pop-up cards workshop by Isabelle Lin, from 8 years old, the invent your sport workshop from 8 years old by Adèle Tariel at 2:30 p.m. and the round table. The theme of sport featured with Stéphane Floccari, Olivier Villepreux, Gilles Navarro and a surprise guest, the only clue is that he is a sports journalist at France Télévision. Workshops are by reservation at the library.[email protected]
